IRC, Canary Islands, 28th April – 1st May 2010
Great news for motor sport fans, the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) will take place in the Canary Islands for the first time in 2010. The Canary Islands rally “Trofeo El Corte Inglés” will replace the usual slot at Rally Principe de Asturias. The rally will take place in Gran Canaria from the 28th April to the 1st May, the race change came about after difficulties with funding at the Rally Principe de Asturias last month. Competitors will now return from Argentina to Europe and then over to the Canary Islands, this is a one year agreement but Marcello Lotti the IRC boss is hoping this could become a permanent fixture.
